 McGill's rookie pitcher Anthony Carbone throws his patented curve in the semi final against Durham College. The Redbirds won 8-7 in a nail biter as the Lords scored twice in the 6th and three more in the last of the seventh before stranding the tying run at third base.
Here the camera puts the freeze on the pitch and draws attention to Carbone's puffed cheek. Unlike the traditional tobacco "chaw" of the pros (banned in university baseball), Carbone fills with air as he puts everything into the pitch.
 They say baseball has its ups and downs and this photo proves it. The McGill runner slides while the Durham defender goes high for the ball. A mouth full of dirt later, he's safe at third.
