Oct. 10/04 YORK SAYS NO NO TO OTTAWA
Rob Vecchiarelli picked a fine time to step it up as the York hurler threw a no hitter against Ottawa to win the deciding game of the Ontarion Conference final. It marks the first Conference Championship for York.
Vecchiarelli pitched 7 innings, striking out 3 and allowing 4 walks. It didn't look spectacular, in fact it kind of sneaked up on you. But, in the end, the line score said no runs, no hits and 1 error with York 3 and Ottawa 0. With that, York heads to the National CHampionship for the first time.

Oct. 9/04 LAVAL SWEEPS AGAIN
Laval's Rouge et Or swept the final series with McGill 4-3 and 10-7. It marks the 9th consecutive Conferencce Championship in Quebec.
Powered by the usual suspects, pitchers Charles Tasiaux and Vincent Michaud split the wins. Jeff Bordeleau contributed a save. They also provided some offence, Michaud 3 for 4 with 4 rbi's while Bordeleau hit a 2 run shot.
Laval, a three time National Champion and last year's runner-up, will head to Kingston for next weekend's national tournament.

Sept. 18/04 NEW RECORD FOR STEALING
Justin Dela Pena had a big day for Queen's and an even bigger day for himself. Dela Pena went 4 for 4, scoring twice and driving in a run as Queen's edged Durham 3-0. But, it was his speed that really stood out, as he stole five bases for a new CIBA-ABIC record, one better than the existing mark set last year by Quentin So of Carleton.

Sept. 17/04 HALF THE OUA RETURNS
As the annual roster deadline approaches, three more teams from the O.U.A. have applied for membership in the national body. Brock, Guelph and Waterloo applied under the new Independent category. Earlier, York applied to return to full membership and re-joined the Ontario Conference.
The new membership category was adopted at last year's Annual Meeting. Teams in the OUA are now allowed to apply individually where previously the entire OUA Conference was considered a member.
Any independent wanting to join in the future will be required to apply one year in advance.
As Independent Members, Brock, Guelph and Waterloo will be eligible to attend the National Championship by winning the OUA Championship.

Sept. 11/04 NO HITTERS ABOUND
Pitchers have come out of summer ball in great shape, as indicated by three no hitters already recorded early in our season. John Burns of UNB shut out Saint Mary's 5-0. Laval's Maxim Page denied John Abbott batters with a 9-0 win. Meanwhile, Waterloo's Shane Riley blanked Toronto 8-0, earning him the OUA Male Athlete of the Week honour.
